KBBTV Episode 1 - Series 1

In episode 1 of Kochie's Business Builders TV, we focus on the important issue of pricing and follow two aspiring new ventures as they embark on their first steps into the world of small business.

Rhona Rafferty has recently graduated as an holistic counsellor and wants advice to help pluck up the courage to take the plunge and actually start her business. She's identified the niche she wants to target and researched the prices that other counsellors charge but wants some advice from Linda Hailey to check that she's aiming in the right direction.

We also meet Kimberley and Tim Sporre who have taken a leap into the competitive field of Ready to Drink (RTD) products with their lemon and lime flavoured Zest Ale Fusion. They currently produce low volumes of beer and are a little disconcerted as the price point they seem to be able to achieve with retailers is lower than they were hoping. Consequently, their profit margin is being squeezed. They meet with Julia Bickerstaff, our finance guru and a partner at accounting firm Deloitte, to see if there's anything they should be doing differently.

We also take a look at something that should be an important foundation stone for any business - business insurance. In this case, we meet a dynamic multi-site hairdressing salon owner, Leon Shiner, director of Hair Ink, as he meets Kevin Cleland, from NRMA Business Insurance, to get a risk assessment of his business.
