KBB TV Episode 7 - Series 1
In this episode, we meet two businesses: Treles Creations, an event styling business, and Moggy and Mutt, a pet boutique.
Treles Creations is run by two young highly motivated and creative "Crazy Girls", Theodora Antonopoulos and Penny Alexopoulos. They style Christenings, children's parties, weddings, etc, creating invitations, favors, bonbonniere, centre-pieces, etc. and have the ambition to become Australia's young "Martha Stewarts"! Their challenge is that they've been so busy creating their products, they haven't focused enough on the business side. They also want to convert their garage workshop into a customer friendly showroom.
Moggy & Mutt is a pet boutique run by Sarah Mackenzie-Wood. The store is located in a shopping centre and stocks a stylish range of products and pet foods for cats and dogs. Sarah wants to know how to increase awareness of her stores existence.
In the first segment, we send in our small business consultant, Linda Hailey, to Treles Creations. Her first piece of advice is that the girls should consolidate their range of products and set themselves up with an accounting package so they can keep tabs on their finances.
In part two, the girls express their concern about having competitors copying their ideas. Linda gives them some useful suggestions. We then send our retail consultant, Kevin Hennah, to Moggy & Mutt to meet with Sarah Mackenzie-Wood to make some suggestions on her store layout. Kevin starts with her window display.
In part three, Kevin walks Sarah through the shop and explains the importance of understanding what her best sellers are so she can display them in the prime positions within the store.
In part four, the Treles girls meet Georgia Lee, from Telstra Business, who demonstrates Telstra's Turbo 7 series cards which could be a useful business tool for the girls to help them to better manage their emails and other online requirements whilst they're out and about.
