Adrian King has spent a lifetime crafting short-form videos as an animator, editor, producer and creator. Now he’s brought all those skills to bear in Brivvio – an app that makes social video marketing as easy as 1-2-3.
“One of the things I say is Brivvio is about telling a story, you know, sharing a vision, promoting your cause or boosting a brand,” explains Adrian.
“So that all wraps up into storytelling, which is something that we’ve been doing for, 100s of 1000s of years. Ever since we first learned to speak and communicate and even do sign language, or paint on the walls of a cave.”
Brivvio making storytelling accessible
Adrian says today’s business owners are under immense pressure to produce new content daily. It’s a pressure that has only increased in the past few years with the rise of social videos. With Brivvio, Adrian hopes to eliminate this pain point and make the art of storytelling simple for businesses and brands.
“Brivvio’s pretty straightforward. I think it’s the easiest and fastest way to create branded captioned videos for social media. It’s an app on the phone that when you record your video, your branding is applied to it, and your captions are generated automatically. So that the 80 per cent of people that are watching videos with their sound turned down can read what you’re saying. And you don’t have to do any post-production to make it look professional.”
Professional video in a few clicks
It’s this last element that makes Brivvio so appealing. So, it’s little wonder the app was named a finalist in Kochie’s Business Builders 2022 Innovators’ competition. Brivvio has helped countless small business owners streamline their social videos.
According to Adrian, Brivvio makes professional results achievable for even a video novice. Rather than spending hours in post-production creating graphics and generating captions, Brivvio delivers professional-looking social videos in minutes.
“What it does is it enables anyone with zero training, zero skills, with no know-how or anything like that, to create branded and captioned videos fast and easily.”
The path to production
Developing a platform from scratch takes time, and Adrian says he and his team spent eighteen months in the development stage, drawing on his skills as a creator and animator to guide the journey.
“We tried several different technologies to make it work, including progressive web apps and multi-platforms, but we had to rebuild the technology from scratch because it requires a lot of heavy video processing.”
Adrian says the original concept for Brivvio came to him after a client had requested some video edits for social.
“I thought, right, I’m going to make this systematised because I’m sure other people will want this. And so I built a prototype. I mocked it up. I did the lean startup method. I built a web form, and it mimicked the process of how to do it. So, upload video here, put your title, put colours, choose a background and that kind of thing.”
Taking social videos to the next level
Next, Adrian built out his concept and put it to the test. Feedback was instantly positive.
“One of our beta testers is a prolific blogger. And he said this is the future of blogging because there’s so much post-production done in getting a vlog to look good, putting the graphics on it, and titles, and then getting your captions done. It takes a lot of time.
“[But] What if you could just spend 10 minutes making the video and then post it online straight away with all of the work done?
“That’s what I’ve tried to achieve with Brivvio – to take away all of that extra work.”
